  1. I don’t like gaming monitors. I know, I know, everyone hypes them up with all the high refresh rates, low response times, and RGB lights everywhere… but for me personally, they’re just overkill. Especially when all I really want to do is enjoy my non-gaming PC for basic entertainment like Disney+, Paramount+, Max, and YouTube videos.

I’m not trying to sweat through competitive matches or crank up some crazy FPS count—I just want a good, clean, sharp image that doesn’t blast my eyes out or make things look overly saturated or hyper-fast. Gaming monitors are built for speed and performance, not necessarily comfort or casual viewing. A lot of them are too bright, too punchy, or even have weird motion smoothing that makes videos look unnatural.

With my non-gaming PC monitor, I can watch episodes of The Mandalorian, Avatar: The Last Airbender, or South Park on Max without worrying about blown-out colors or unnecessary settings I don’t need. I’m not trying to “game the pixels”—I just want to relax. And you know what? The regular monitor does that beautifully. It’s simple, calm, and made for all-day viewing without frying my retinas.

So yeah, non-gaming PCs and monitors are just better for my lifestyle. I don’t need 240Hz to watch Spongebob or binge Star Trek. Let the gaming monitors stay in esports arenas—I’ll take my peaceful, practical setup every time.
