I don’t like gaming monitors. I know, I know, everyone hypes them up with all the high refresh rates, low response times, and RGB lights everywhere… but for me personally, they’re just overkill. Especially when all I really want to do is enjoy my non-gaming PC for basic entertainment like Disney+, Paramount+, Max, and YouTube videos.
I’m not trying to sweat through competitive matches or crank up some crazy FPS count—I just want a good, clean, sharp image that doesn’t blast my eyes out or make things look overly saturated or hyper-fast. Gaming monitors are built for speed and performance, not necessarily comfort or casual viewing. A lot of them are too bright, too punchy, or even have weird motion smoothing that makes videos look unnatural.
With my non-gaming PC monitor, I can watch episodes of The Mandalorian, Avatar: The Last Airbender, or South Park on Max without worrying about blown-out colors or unnecessary settings I don’t need. I’m not trying to “game the pixels”—I just want to relax. And you know what? The regular monitor does that beautifully. It’s simple, calm, and made for all-day viewing without frying my retinas.
So yeah, non-gaming PCs and monitors are just better for my lifestyle. I don’t need 240Hz to watch Spongebob or binge Star Trek. Let the gaming monitors stay in esports arenas—I’ll take my peaceful, practical setup every time.
Does it have good audio even do you don’t want to use headphones
